Grrrr

Big momma R A N T. What is this. How do you explain it when you're hiding in the bathroom crying your eyes out, and you know that at the same time you are doing this, he's out there enjoying himself, having bucketloads of fun? How about when you're having a shitty day and you're trying to confide in someone, but I don't know.. he's having too much fun? Or God forbid, technical difficulties take place that you don't know of. And that you were right when you thought she would respond faster than he would. Or that he didn't at all.

Can't believe how tough it was to get today over with. The crazy lines that would not fucking go away or show any sign of dying. The fuckheads that won't move out of your way when you're running around like a headless chicken, trying to do your job. Why the hell are we always understaffed. What the fuck it's the weekend and its holiday season. One second I'm inside the bar, rushing and rushing and just pushing things out one after another one after another and I'm still moving and moving but the orders just keep coming and coming. Then next second I'm out there taking things out giving them away then being asked for this and that and this and that. Fuck I can't do all that while I still have to keep taking out, and I'm also needed back there. Why can't people just wait. Goddammit we're not a fast food joint. And seriously 20 minutes what the fuck don't you know that's the fastest waiting time or the average waiting time we try to achieve during the weekend. People just want fucking everything. And you just can't be nice to people, because you don't get it back. What do you get. It doesn't pay. What the hell that fuckhead made my eyes swell up can't you see that we were being nice? You fucking take it away, or you just shut up and say thank you for our generosity. But no, you want to cancel one just because of our kindness. What is going on. And curse my goddamn runny nose go away dammit how annoying is it to have to try not to snort while you're explaining how to drink a drink that's supposed to be yum and then have it run out and you have no choice but to snort and oh god that disgusting sound.

It died a slow death. My god it was over, I never thought I'd make it. That breaking point happened, when I actually seriously considered 1) absolutely stop everything I was doing and just go into the cool room to have a big cry, and 2) whether if I were managing I would yell FUCK that's it and accept no more customers, throw the towel in, ask everyone to shut up and wait and close the shop up. But then life goes on. That didn't happen and we just kept moving. And moving. And moving. I wonder sometimes why we move so fast.

Oh jesus. Someone give me a holiday.

What are you, my air?

There's something about a couple in love that makes me smile and comforts me somewhat. Maybe it's the way they light each other up when they're around one another, maybe it's the way they finish each other's sentences, maybe it's that crazy spark in their eyes when they look at each other, or maybe it's the silly smirks on their faces as they catch glances of one another at alternate moments. It's so delicate, and you almost miss it if you just look but do not see. How many of us are lucky enough to experience this, or witness this and be touched by it? And how long can you hold onto these moments for?

WTF

Holy shit I have so much anger built up inside of me I breathe fire I exhale fire I speak fire I eat fire I drink fire I AM FRIGGIN ON FIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I'm broken. I'm gone. It's gone. You really should stop friggin trying. Nothing's going to come out of it. I don't care anymore. I don't care how much you have. You're standing outside a broken phone booth with money in your hand.

I haven't seen myself smile for days now. There's a shade of grey hanging over my face now. It's only the second or third goddamn day, now. Give me a few more days and you'll see that shade of grey turn black from internal burning.

Look at me

Promise me you'll still look at me like the first day we met
Promise me you'll still smile at me like the first day we met
Promise me you'll still treat me like the first day we met
Promise me you'll still give me kisses that make my knees go weak
Promise me I'll still be able to catch you catching glimpses of me
Promise me you'll laugh at my jokes, or at least try to
Promise me you'll keep writing me notes
Promise me the only tears you'll make me cry are tears of joy
Promise me you'll say "Who cares when I can look at you instead" with the most beautiful sunset in front of you
Promise me you'll explain when I don't understand
Promise me you'll never stop explaining
Promise me you'll show me love in movies are not impossible in reality
Promise me you'll never raise your voice at me
Promise me you'll never let go of my hand
Promise me you'll understand my obsession over Taylor Hanson
Promise me you'll give me a kiss everytime we part
Promise me you'll give me a kiss everytime we meet
Promise me you'll still smell my hair
Promise me you'll still tell me how beautiful I am
Promise me you'll still tell me I'm beautiful when my eyes are red and puffy, when my hair is frizzy and untamed, and when my skin is on strike
Promise me you'll still say sorry and thank you
Promise me you'll always let me win
Promise me you'll let me sit next to you silently and not ask why I am so quiet
Promise me you'll never give up on me
Promise me you'll never let me think it's too late
Promise me you'll show me what it's like to not be able to live without each other
Promise me it's real
And I'll promise to understand
And I'll promise to love you for the rest of my life

I need a cashmere hug

I don't know.. I don't like feeling torn like this. My idealist self isn't talking to me anymore.

What do I want?

Apart from gentleness.

And if I'm not getting any of that, I can't be that selfish anymore to just say "That's it, I'm looking elsewhere."

I can't seem to bloody stop this. I can't stop thinking. Of you. I know you think differently for this matter. But I can't seem to even stop it.. it's like trying to cut off a stream. You can block it momentarily, then it'll just overflow and flood the world and we will all drown woo hoo~ You make me laugh. Omfg and why does it feel so right.

I seem to be coming up with ways to try to go around it. Why do I always have to try to be the better person?

Gotta move on?

It was when he called, with his usual nonchalant swearing and inconsideration, and when he hung up when I was still talking, whilst I was trying to get a word in, when I couldn't hold it together anymore.

Have I been missing out on a lot? As bitter as the person I am, do I actually secretly crave for that much more? Am I just another girl after all? I hate admitting this. But. I. Friggin. Need. Affection. Sometimes. I. Do. I. Need. To. Feel.

It's almost comical how things have evolved. How I used to think it would be. Am I not good enough for you? Why do I always live for everyone else apart from myself? Why has it become like this? At which point did it start going downhill?

The fantastic thing about me is that you can never tell that I've been crying. And that I can burst into laughter while crying. It's such a thin, thin line.

Thank you. Thank you for holding me. Thank you for talking to me. Thank you for wiping away my tears with your hand. I haven't had someone do that for me for over a year or longer. Thank you for being able to erase the mistakes I've made, and still believe in me. I'm looking forward to drinking wine with you again after 10 years, marking it as the 22nd year we've known each other.

It takes courage. It does. And regret is what makes life perfect.

Strange lights shimmering over the sea tonight...

...and it almost blows my mind.

Ah gotta love Girl From Mars. One of the best songs ever recorded and never gets tired, I reckon. If I had a meter to record the number of times I've listened to this song, it would read something close to 90239283882842928371820402391872. Every moment of it is beautiful. Even with Tim Wheeler's off vocals. Every moment of it is right.

Yes yes Hanson concert review is on its way. Taking friggin ages to write it up.

Some random comments that I need to get out of my system:

-I bloody hate asians at times. Were asians brought up to be rude, demanding and self-absorbed? I'm sorry, but I rarely get a "thank you" when I serve asians, it's such a negative reflection on our culture. Oh, yes I am asian myself. I've grown to not expect any word of thanks when I serve asians. A chinese boy around his 20s bumped heavily into me while I was carrying drinks but he never bothered to even mutter a sorry. Girls sit their LV Speedys on the chair next to them and point to their table, indicating they want me to clear/clean it, whilst displaying a "I know I'm better than you" look. Please. Just because you're using daddy's money doesn't make you better than me. Just because you have an LV bag doesn't make you all that. You're not the only person who can afford an LV bag. JUST BECAUSE YOU USE FRIGGIN DADDY'S MONEY. A chinese boy around his early 20s was bragging to his girl friends how he got his shirt (it was an ugly pink linen shirt) on discount for $1000 something. Dude, you got ripped off. Big time. Puhleese who wants to know this shit? Seriously. And how about the damn asians that just point to the used plates on their table and say "Clean". Piss off I'm not your maid at home. I friggin hate asians sometimes. People give me the shits.

-Gotta love the good vibe between co-workers at work to keep each other sane. And you can always expect jokes from one or two to keep us going, no matter how bad the day is. And of course, I always look forward to those one or two customers during the day that make me smile, like those that go out of their way to say thank you before they leave, or those that seem to understand what a tough day it's been. One couple was memorable - they had 2 little animal shaped things stuck on short ice cream wooden sticks on their table when I served them, so I asked them what they were, thinking they were chocolates at first. They explained that they were erasers, and asked me to smell the orange horse. Sad but true, that made my Monday. (Thank you, for getting me that eraser eventually)

-Gosh I absolutely love the feeling of freshly waxed legs. I've forgotten how good they feel. When you're lying in bed in the morning, you reach down and discover that your pjs have ride up your leg, and you run your palm along your legs. Mm. Beautiful smoothness. Clean.

-I've become so bitter. So so so so bitter. I mean, not like I wasn't before, but gosh soo much more now. At work, I'm like an old granny that's angry at everyone and everything. Ocassionally, I'll be cranky and catch myself stopping and thinking, "Wait a minute, what thought just crossed my mind? Is this the same me? What is work doing to me?" Heck, nowadays when I can't seem to motivate myself to be upbeat, on the ball and be nice to customers for the entire day, I tell myself that all these customers are going to die tomorrow and that they're spending their last moments on earth here, so I should be nice to them. AAHH how bitter I am. And yes, this works.

-I need more books lined up for me to read! I remember a few years ago, I did a questionaire and I when I was given the choice of what to do if I had the entire night off to myself, I chose "Spend it curled up in a warm blanket with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate" over "Partying with friends". Maybe I'm just overly picky and anti-social.

-The Girl From Ipanema manages to put a smile on my face no matter how terrible I'm feeling. Yes yes I'm corny. I love it when it comes on at work.. that's if I can even hear it behind everyone in the shop yack yack yacking away.

-Why do you remind me so much of him sometimes? You somehow bring out the demons that I have tried so hard and managed to ignore and put away. Bad memories. Me being dumb not just once. My lowest points. I thought that I had faced down those demons. I've started having bad dreams. Dammit before that my dreams were never unpleasant. You're probably not even there anymore. I don't think you're there anymore. But then again, I've somehow never believed you were there in the first place. And I couldn't ask that question. I couldn't see it to be able to ask it. How stupid could I be? How stupid am I still? When will I stop being stupid. When will I say I'd rather stay stupid.

I like crunchy spring rolls' ends

Warning: Following content may be incomprehensible. My mind's just doing a little vomiting.

There are some moments. Some moments that happen. That you can't help but feel they don't come by very often. That exact moment. That very moment. You can't help but take it all in. The smells all around you. The way every inch of your skin feels. How you feel in your clothes. The exact colour of the air around you. How you look up and you can see dust colliding with the atoms in the air. The collision of sounds all around you. You can hear so much. Breathing. Your own. Someone else's. Music. The world. Everything's bustling but nothing's really moving. The patterns on the ground. The feeble attempts at decoration around you. You just want to take it all in. You want to remember.

Sometimes, I really don't know how anyone can put up with me. I'm so bloody whiny.

I think God can explain

WHOAAA I feel a majorrrrr rant coming along it's bursting from every pore of mine.

I hate admiting that a fellow human being is my piller of strength and my support system. I mean, a human being. Urgh. That's just disgusting. And that a word that he may choose wrongly for the context, or a simple phrase that may strike a sensitive chord inside me, or simply not agreeing with me CAN MAKE ME GO MENTAL WHEN I AM HAVING MY FRIGGIN PMS. AAAAAAAAAAAAAaAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ok. Ahem. People have said to me numerous times, "Don't let your hormones control you, you must control your hormones." Ya ya ya. Yeah I heard you the first time, just because I don't respond doesn't mean I didn't hear you. It probably means I'm (a) deep in thought (b) annoyed by you (c) annoyed by your stupidity (d) dumbfounded that you were so annoying (e) all of the above. I mean it when I say I can cry within seconds during these times. For these few days, there's always this tightness in my chest, sort of a mixture of sourness and frustration and just this pang of.. disturbance. And everytime I have this feeling in my chest, it's that feeling of being on the verge between being composed and.. well, going hysterical and getting all upset and start throwing chairs around and beating the crap out of people and screaming like some mad woman (well ok, maybe no flying chairs). And it normally takes 10 seconds for the transition. Well, of course, it depends on what upsets me as well. From discovering he was looking at someone else's ass to realizing that he's stopped complimenting me ever since we hooked up (Why, mission accomplished? So you think you don't have to be nice anymore?)

Then again there's the thing about me. You see, I don't like talking very much. Simply because I don't express myself very well when I open my mouth. That I don't like my choice of words sometimes. That everytime I try to explain myself I get people upset. That I'm always using inappropriate words. That people seldom see eye to eye with me. That I think I'm better off quiet. That I like being quiet. That I don't exactly like to tell you bastards what's on my mind otherwise you'll think I'm some crazy bitch. So I keep it to myself, keep it all inside, bottled up. Most of the time I make mental notes to myself. Man, they don't call me the silent sufferer for nothing.

So I just smile and nod. Smile and nod. Smile and nod. Works every time.

And am I the only human being alive who thinks porn is bad? I think it's evil. Very evil. Porn makes me lose faith in humanity and the world.

Well. Anyways. The world is an evil place to live in anyway.

Finally got my hands on the latest Hanson album, Underneath!

Don't go! Don't go telling me you're alright!

Don't go saying that you're okay when you're lonely!

Baby don't go telling me we're over!

When you know you're my one and only lover!

And I won't go saying that we're okay when we're lost without each other! 'Cause we're lost without each other!!

Boredom kicks in

You know I don't write unless I'm in for a rant.

So agitated so bloody annoyed so frustrated so just want a hug and let all this be over. I feel like my insides are drowning. I'm in the mood for a good cry over a silly soppy movie but I can't find any suitable ones.

Soft rose petals. On the grass. Everywhere. Can't even see grass. Wait, then how do I know there's grass? Oh because it's in a garden, silly. Oh yeah, that's right. Rose petals decorating the ground. No red carpet. Walkway of red rose petals instead.

It's good to cry sometimes, you know.

Such beautiful things, but no one to share them with. Well there is someone, but he doesn't seem to want to care. Or want me to share these with him. Or his friends are more important that he scurries off the second they ask him to. Or he simply doesn't care.

I read an article regarding how unromantic men in these modern times have become, and how the standards of what labels you as being a romantic have increased. "Finding romance in our modern times is like searching for a needle in a haysack. Finding a romantic man is akin to looking for the Yeti. You've heard of him, you might have caught glimpses of this elusive creature but till now, there has been no tangible evidence of his existence. Hence, the rarity and the futility of the search. Admittedly, there might have been one or two who have shown symptoms of an incurable romantic but be assured that men are equally smart in employing this technique in their persuit of their trophy girls."

"Some men do manage to put on a veneer of romanticism and fool the women into thinking they have been truly blessed. The real test, however, comes after the rings are exchanged and the bridal bouquet flung into the direction of the oldest spinster at the garden wedding party. He forgets to open the limo door, or worse he slams in the door in her face. Instead of carrying her over the threshold, he makes her carry the luggage on their honeymoon. He used to cuddle after sex but now he watches ESPN even before she finishes panting. In bed, she notices how loud he snores, how he drools all over the pillow, how he breaks wind without scant consideration for her and how he has bouts of violent kicking in the middle of the night - with her at the receiving end. In the morning, he pees into the bowl - loudly, leaving dribble marks everywhere. What a romantic way to start the morning after a blissful reunion."

"For the man, all this romanticism is a waste of time, energy and resources. It is a skill that he uses to attain his goals but once the objectives are achieved, it is only logical to move on to higher things in life. Men are practical beings. He needed this skill to woo, wine and dine the girl but now that she has succumbed, there surely must be better ways to put his energy to good use, like being suave to the lady at the next table while his wife struggles with the pram, two kids, the feeding bag and the grocery shopping. And being a man, one should never apologise or feel sorry for this behaviour/attitude/mindset. Men have been genetically encoded to act and behave in such a manner and by Jove, if evolution over all these years has not managed to budge him by an iota, no woman is going to dictate to him to be all sappy and romantic, so that she can feel all warm and mushy inside. If she wants warm and mushy, she should try oats porridge instead. It is far better for her heart, health and physique compared to a man who may cleave her heart, damage her health and ravage her physique."

I swear this article has got to be written by a feminist. However, all I can say is, amen to that. Romance is dead and long gone.

Everything is quiet

I only know because I carry you around in the background.

I can only say I'm sorry as I'm covered in tears. I can't even interpret my own thoughts - I don't know how long it's been like this, or what has caused it to be this way. He said I'm just trying to cheat myself. I wanted to ask him to fuck off. I wish he'd just die.

A part of me has just died. That's what touching you leads me to - I die inside.

I'm sorry you don't know what has happened. Or how fucked up I am. I don't even know where to start. And at the end I'd just say to you, "I want you to love me like you did before you knew me." Then I'll just end up hurting the both of us. Then we can die together. Good idea, no?

The phone fell. So did the rest of me.

I don't know either.

This may be the biggest lost of my life if I pass it up. But it's just come at the wrong time. Can I put it on hold? What if he's dead by then? No wait argh, choy choy choy, he mustn't die. He can't.

You touch me like you are my blood

God.. it's all jumbled up. All messed up. Into a little yarn ball.

I don't know why I went up to his office. Did I just want to check out the environment? Did I want to just say hi? Did I plan on staying to talk for a short while? Did I want to see whether we could hold an actual conversation? Did I want to personally see a part of his life? Well, I don't know, really. But what I did know was the 2 hours we spent talking went by like it was 15 minutes. And that he smelled nice.

I wish for so many things, but I've never wanted anything more than this. I would've jumped at the very opportunity. I should be so thrilled. I should be so happy. But.. look at this. Look at this shit. What the hell. I would've loved this.

Please.. take him away. I'm just waiting. Why is it so hard? Why do I let myself go through this?

Can't believe I know someone who's still so young yet has "quite a few things under his belt". Is he good at making me feel useless or what? I mean, come on.. geeeeez. And here I am, trying to figure out how to begin my silly marketing essay.

I've always thought of myself as strong and never letting someone tie me down. Never letting anyone come in my way of making a decision. Hah, yeah right. Look at me now. How did I even get myself into this situation in the first place? Why the hell.. why did I take that road? I know I know.. there's no point pondering why such actions were taken, but I still can't help but wonder. What the hell was I thinking???? I still can't figure it out till this day, and when I do, I know I'll give myself a good bashing.

Why do I still try? Because I'm scared. Yes I'm friggin scared of you. Some things never change, hun, don't you get it? Some things do, and some things don't. And this is a don't. I know it's still somewhere inside of you. Please don't freakin mess with my head by saying it's no longer there.

I don't write anymore. I suppose I've become too paranoid of having my own thoughts and stuff being used against me. At least I can still release some tension here.. as you probably have no friggin clue what I'm on about. Hopefully that's the case, anyway.

I should crash. I'm useless. Bah.

Bounce around from cloud to cloud!

Dammit Melbourne, stop raining!

Yesterday was such a mess. Man. Slept at 8am. Woke up at 4:30pm when I initially intended to get up at 11am. Made the two of them wait for me.. oops. Finished off OAC and submitted it at 5:39pm, then took a quick shower, blow dried my hair and sped off to meet them. Then it started raining again and we were all drenched in the rain. I normally enjoy getting drenched back in Penang, but definitely not in Melbourne. The rain's just miserable here. Kill Bill Vol. 2 was good, even surprisingly as there was a definite absence of gore throughout the movie, though I did have my face half covered the whole time, ready to cover my eyes in case something freaky happened. And what the hell was his arm doing around me, trying to stop me from covering my eyes? Geez.

And don't you say I brought it on myself.

Wait, why am I even thinking of you?

Today was good. We had our first manicures! It was good to see her so happy.. I think she was on the verge of crying from being too happy even. Bad thing is I'm now officially broke again. Bah. Too much impulse shopping.

Uhhhhhhhhh oh. Mm someone's unhappy.

Hi boys.

HELLOOOOO!!!!

Yum.

Yummierrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. God I absolutely love what Taylor's wearing.

The woman who stole Taylor away from me. Grr.

By the way I'm just kidding, please put down the phone and stop contacting the funny farm people. Damn I like those vintage cowboy boots. Why does she get everything???

Aawwwwww.

Taylor looks beautiful here. So relaxed. I swear, he's the only person who can pull off seafoam green so well and get away with it.

Even Carson from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy couldn't do much to them.

Oh God. Mmmm he's beautiful.

*Big smile plastered on face*

Taylor, honey, as much as I love you.. you look kinda gay with that scarf around your neck when you're only in a wife-beater.

Yes that's better, you've put a jacket on. Good boy.

Hehehehe so that's how a Hanson looks like when placed next to an Asian.

Those camera phones sure come in handy!

(Hahaha how spooky.. MMMBop just started playing on my playlist! Anyways.. *ahem*.. back to the pics)

Oooooh.

I've just realized how grown up Zac is now.

Woo hoo!

'Cuz all of the stars have faded away

Me and a whole bunch of other people.. we were sitting at the top of the stairs. She was there, she had gotten out of the hospital. She was there as well, somehow, I think she was here on holiday. He was there, he had just finished taking pictures of the interior of Macccas. I had a bag of Cheetos cheese strips in my hands and they tasted weird. I let her have some as they didn't have this in Japan, and I commented that the cheese and bacon balls taste heaps better.

Then I saw him rock up. He was wearing a Von Dutch cap. Ironic eh? He saw me and waved, I waved back. He started yelling something but I couldn't hear a thing, as there was just way too many people sitting on the stairs. I could only see his mouth move. I got up and moved my way over to where he was standing and offered him a cheese strip. He didn't want it, my offer was rejected as usual. Nothing new eh? He started to say something.. but couldn't finish.

"Go read my blog," he said.

"I've already read it," I said as-a-matter-of-factly.

"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry. It's just that.. we weren't doing anything.. y'know? I wasn't doing anything. You weren't doing anything. That standing still period was tough."

"Yeah I know.. hey it's okay, it's all good," I said.

"Yeah?" he said with a smile. "She's really pretty."

I smiled. "That's great.. good for you. Is she from Melbourne Uni as well?"

"Nah she's from the States."

"What? Gee that's going to be tough then."

"Yeah.. hey I gotta go to PSP. I'm late."

"Sure.. I'll see ya," I said with a half smile and turned to walk back up the stairs. As I got back to my seat, I watched him as he entered the classroom and disappeared. I took a look at my pink Tiffany & Co/Rolex watch (which one was it again?) and realized he was 20 minutes late for class.

"What happened?" she asked.

"He's found someone new," I answered.

And then I woke up.

Now TONIGHT was good. Man! I'm glad I went in the end. And to think that I was going to stay at home and revise my Japanese and watch all the Queer Eye episodes I've downloaded at first! Nah those can wait. Few shots down and I was good to go. Next thing I knew, we were dancing on top of the bar. No, didn't get plastered at all, but it was good fun. Danced like nobody's watching and without a care in the world. At least there was room to dance and move around. Tonight totally made up for Friday night. I remember drooling over Marc Jacob shoes in front of Miss Louise and him spitting out the prices of all the LV bags on display in the window within seconds. Too bad we couldn't make it to the second venue as the line was just too friggin long. We did somehow walk all the way for coffee and McDonald's though.. and our conversation somehow swifted over to the Principles of Marketing essay due on the 20th and how many words we were supposed to write for it. There was a bet for $50 on 1000 and 1500 words. Good thing I wasn't part of the bet or else I would've lost.

Feet are soo sore now. Those heels killed. I did take off them off at some point in the middle of the road as it got too bad. It's time to go hunting for a foot spa tomorrow!

Haha oh my God.. that bad receipt joke is still stuck in my head. And those desserts. Geez. Gotta give it to him.
