Waah!
Yeah so I haven't blogged for a bit.. Not like I can anyway, with them taking full control over the computer day and night.
Mm another week of studying and cramming for exams.. 2 down already.. 2 more to go! Business in the Global Economy today wasn't as bad as I imagined.. but then again it could've been much easier if I had started earlier for it.
As I was locating my seat in the examination hall, number 1994, I heard a familiar voice call out my name in a I-am-screaming-out-your-name-as-softly-as-I-can-and-it's-straining-my-freakin-vocal-chords manner. I looked in his direction and found myself waving at him, smiling. It's good to see him again. It feels just like sunshine after the rain at times. Though he was seated a few rows away, I could feel him glancing over occasionally, smiling. It's ironic how he's always smiling, when he's so dark and twisted inside. His eyes weighed themselves down on me. I just had to look over at him and smile myself. Friggin idiot.. he signalled to me that it was his last paper for the semester. During the last half hour, he stretched out his perfect, slender legs for me to behold. Bastard. I've been wanting those goddamn legs since I first saw them at age 15. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And he saw how my jaw dropped as I stared at them, bewildered. He just soaked it all in by giving me that damn smug smirk of his and trying to stretch them out even more.
Last week was heaps fun! I was totally blown away by the Mercedes Australian Fashion Week. And getting first hand experience backstage was amazing. Oh, not to mention meeting the models up close and personal, as well as the designers.
Labels whose designers I managed to meet:
-The N (Some Italian dude who wore a Helmut Lang t-shirt. He was nice and friendly, walked around supervising and making sure everything was perfect)
-Azzollini (Think the designers were 2 ladies and one guy. One lady was super nice to me as I sorted out the shoes for her. I kept eyeing the other lady's black multicolore Louis Vuitton Alma bag, and when I complimented her on it, she told me it was a gift)
-camilla and marc (one lady - Camilla, one guy - Marc, gorgeous gorgeous gooooorrrrgeeeeoussss dresses)
-Wayne Cooper (Titled the most "rockstar" status designer of Australia, he's got a bit of an attitude problem but was still fine to talk to, things eased up when he started cracking jokes and got all of us laughing. Loved the black nailpolish on him and how he teamed his designer suit together with a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors. It's good to see a man not take what he's wearing too seriously and have a little fun)
-Vicious Threads (There's a mad fella behind the label, that's all I'll say)
-AG by Arthur Galan (Arthur was such a sweetie, with wonderful looking clothes!)
-Devious (er.. I can't remember anything about the designer, or much about the clothes)
-Isaiah (The designer has a strong liking for pastel colours.. and is incredibly generous! He let the models take home the shoes they modelled in *sigh* so lucky.. the model I dressed, Axle, got to take home an adorable pair of checkered grey + pink low cut Converse Chuck Taylors *drool*)
-ericaamerica (Strange people.. very gothic. Especially one of them, whose name is Wednesday. The main designer guy was such such such a sweetie though, and he looked more like a model than a designer. So incredibly tall and skinny, with amazing cheekbones. He went around making sure we were confident in knowing how to wear his clothes)
-ess.Hoshika (They consist of 3 or 4 Japanese designers. Strange clothing, but very very creative nonetheless. Even stranger headgear. Reminded me of dog mufflers *raises eyebrows* But apparently their show was one of the best and most interesting)
-TL Wood (Grr her dress had so many buttons and was so hard to put on in a matter of 10 seconds. Apart from that, satin is always gorgeous. And the designer wore Tsubi jeans! Tsubi!)
-Nicola Finetti (Okay I admit - before Fashion Week, I had always assumed Nicola Finetti was a female. Imagine how shocked I was when I finally met the designer and had to whisper to a fellow dresser, "Uh, is this the designer? Or is this her husband?" Apart from that confusion, his *oops almost typed 'her' instead* outfits are all stuuuunnnnniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnggggggg!!! Such gooooooorgeous dresses *drool* I felt so previleged to be able to feel all the sequins and silk and leather and feathers and embroidery to my heart's delight.. mmm.. My heart skipped a beat when I checked out the prices on the price tags which we had to remove.. $700 for a beautiful minidress draping with endless lines of hand-sewn beads? No way! I'm not sure if I was relieved or disappointed when I double-checked with Nicola and was told that was the wholesale price, and for retail price I would have to x 2 or x 3)
-Alexandra Nea (Oh my gosh.. gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous silk dresses! Her creations were all stunning - imagine silks in pretty colours of mint green, musky pink, baby blue, wooden brown and golden yellow.. mm simply devine. She received incredible feedback and everyone loved her show, I can just imagine the long queue of buyers lining up after her)
-Body (Felt glad I finally managed to meet the designers behind Body. They consist of 2 or 3 girls.. weren't entirely friendly though so I was a bit disappointed. The models had to wear some really bizarre red fishnet stockings-cum-shoes. They were basically fishnet stockings with a few pieces of flimsy sponges, which were meant to be soles, stuck onto them)
-Hansel (3 girls from Singapore.. I thought they were Hongkies at first. They had a few cute outfits for the show. Later found out that their label Hansel was named after one of the designer's dogs, which explained the picture of the dog in their logo)
-Deborah Pak (Not sure how many designers there are but one of the guys briefed me about the dress my model wore, and he oozed a lot of gayness. Mm lots of knitted, wispy material.. nothing terribly exciting)
-Estate (The designer wore BRIGHT ORANGE stockings, and she wanted her models to wear the same. the dress was cute, but.. bright orange stockings? Are you sure?)
-Bowie Genus (The rabbit fur vest I had to dress my model with caught my interest, then let it go after my eyes saw the price tag - $1500, and that's wholesale price, baby. Bowie was a nice guy though, with a lot of potential)
-Daryl (Ooh ooh ooh this one I'm excited over! Imagine lots of heavy knits, but not the ones grandma makes. These are in shades of the cutest pink, aqua, seafoam green and white. Lot of white and pink fluffy balls and adorable foam boots and white furry hats.. aaaaahhhh!!! *hyperventilates*I must must must locate stockists for Daryl!)
-Uberchic by Kirrily Johnston (When I saw one of the necklines for the top my model had to wear, I immediately guessed it was an Uberchic top. I had seen Delta Goodrem wearing a pink dress with an identical neckline. Checking the label reassured my assumptions. I liked the little grey fur shoulder-jacket my model had to wear, it completed the outfit perfectly)
Whoa I just realized how long all of that was. And I haven't even started with the models yet! I'll leave all the yummy bits for another day *smiles* Till then, stay sane!
